Kairos Italy Theater presents the US premiere of "The Worth of Women," adapted from the book by Venetian writer Moderata Fonte, translated from Italian by Virginia Cox.

Published in 1600, this remarkable proto-feminist text presents seven women of different ages and experience debating issues of gender equality and the responsibility of husbands and fathers (and brothers and sons and lovers...)

"The Worth of Women" comes to the Gallery at Access Theater from March 30th to April 9th, after limited engagements at NYU Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò - presented as part of Carnegie Hall's "La Serenissima" festival - and at Goddard Riverside Bernie Wohl Center.

Directed by Jay Stern in collaboration with Laura Caparrotti, composer Erato Kremmyda, and lyricist Maggie-Kate Coleman.
