Starring American Idol’s Ace Young (Broadway’s Hair and Grease) as Radames and introducing Anita Welch in the title role and Erin Mayaas Amneris, Elton John and Tim Rice’s AIDA features a score by famed pop star and the composer of The Lion King and Billy Elliot and the lyricist of Evita, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast. The Axelrod production is being directed and choreographed by Luis Salgado(Broadway’s In the Heights and On Your Feet!).
Sir Elton John and Sir Tim Rice’s award-winning musical AIDA is regarded as one of the great musicals of the current century with a multi-Tony-and Grammy-winning score. The Axelrod’s production boasts a dream team joining director-choreographer Luis Salgado, including set designer Kate Rance, lighting designer Herrick Goldman, sound designer Kevin Johnson, costume designer Robert Croghanand properties designer Susan Bloir. The Salgado Productions team includes Musical Director Ricky Romano, Associate Director Valeria Cossu, Assistant Choreographer Myriam Gadri and Production Supervisor Heather Hogan. The show is being produced by Artistic Director Andrew DePrisco and CEO Jess Levy.
