Dana Aber's BAGGAGE AT THE DOOR Joins The ONE Festival

After sold-out shows at the Dixon Place and the PIT Loft, Dana Aber's Baggage at the Door has been selected to compete in the ONE Festival, happening the week of April 22-28, at the Teatro LATEA. Named an Official Selection of the 2019 ONE Festival, Baggage at the Door will join 9 other original soloshow theatre pieces. Founded by Veronica Caicedo, The ONE Festival is NYC's longest running solo performers theater festival, and returns to The Clemente's LATEA Theater for its 14th year.

Dana Aber's Baggage at the Door is an autobiographical one-woman-musical with music written in collaboration with 10 predominantly female and LGBTQ award-winning emerging composers. This quirky and candid piece explores her attempts to break the PTSD trauma cycle and find courage to unpack her baggage and claim a better life. Incorporating video games, humor, and deli cheese, Baggage at the Door addresses the critical moment when a trauma survivor realizes she may no longer be able to simply cope; when falling in love triggers her latent PTSD, she might be f*ck#d.

Joining the artistic team for this festival presentation are: Joe Langworth, director/dramaturg; Andrew Morrissey and Matthew Stephens, musical direction; and Emma Hogan, stage management.

Baggage at the Door is Ms. Aber's first theatrical work. Dana Aber is a performer, producer, collaborator, and creator. Passionate about the development of new musicals, her career has flung her across the seas, through the US, Off-Broadway, NYFringe, NYMF, Apollo Theatre, & Dixon Place. Her Big Thunder Productions has helmed 9 original shows, most notably the bi-coastal #YesAllWomen Raise Your Voice concert for gender equality. She is a survivor and advocate, and is honored to use her voice and share for those who cannot.

Baggage at the Door will present three performances as part of the ONE Festival: Wednesday April 24 from 8-10pm, Friday April 26 from 6-8pm, and Saturday April 27 from 2-4pm. The winner of the ONE Festival receives a monetary award and a weeklong workshop presentation produced by the ONE Festival itself. Audience ballots are cast at the end of each showset.

Tickets for Baggage at the Door at the ONE Festival are available through the ONEFestival.com site, and can also be found at the Big Thunder Productions website.
