When Egil Hegerberg searched the Theater School, kept the jury on the choke with laughter. Now he's going to play a little bit irresolute culture minister in "the nation". It is a role that suits him well.
-I was first asked to create a tune to it, a national song for the new nation, Rek tang lia. I pulled a little on it, for there are many who would like me to create songs. But then they said that I would like to be able to play a role in the play, too, and it seemed much more exciting. All of a sudden I'm going to play real theater, on a regular theater scene. It's a cool thing to have done, "said Egil Hegerberg.
In "the nation", which is set up by Akershus Teater, he plays a minister of culture that allows the other to determine the most of it. It is the first time that Egil Hegerberg is acting in a professional play, but he is not at all unfamiliar with to stand on a stage. We know him from TV shows such as "New again" and "four-eyes", and as a musician in the including Bare Egil Band, Black Debbath, and Hurra Torpedo. -It is some of the funniest thing I've done in my life. I lived in the collective together with Jan Sælid, who also plays in "the nation", and who had already come in at school. I screamed and howled, plunged the Crow, took me to the crotch and misunderstood what it was possible to get the wrong idea in the text. -Did you see for you a career as an artist already at that time?

-How do you want to work with the role of interpretation?

As the minister of culture is the Gunnars main job to create a national song for the fledgling nation.

-How do you think a good national anthem should be?

And at the same time it should be incredibly catchy. People like probably a little pathos in the text. Though I focus on a simple pop song serving. There will be plenty more use of repetition than usual, and very little pathos.

-It could perhaps have been a few more choices, there will be a bit rigid. And so I'd probably started out with food and drinks first, covered the primary needs. But the premise is fairly absurd. I guess it's fairly rare that one creates a new nation of nothing, without any cultural background or any history. This is a tabula rasa--nation.
-Fit the humor of the piece with your own?
-Yes. Usually I'm not so fond of satire, it is easily predictable, and then it's not so funny anymore. But in this piece works amazing well satire, time and time again.
-Have you ever had tears in the eyes of "Yes, we love"?
-No, I don't think so. but I could certainly get that if the situation was right for it. If we experienced a new occupation and Liberation, for example. Then it would probably "Yes, we love" worked out well. The song itself is not so crazy, even if it has a little bit of a lot of verses.
