Nya Joseph is a dedicated, inner-city public high school teacher who is committed to her students' achievement, while she sends her only son, Omari, to a private boarding school. When Omari is involved in a controversial incident which threatens him with expulsion from his school, Nya is forced to reconcile Omari's rage and her own parental decisions, as she rallies to save her son.

Cadence Brown is 16 years old and is currently a Senior at Commonwealth Charter Academy.  Some of her favorite roles include: King Julien (Madagascar Jr.), Mrs. Brill (Mary Poppins Jr.), and Ensemble (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat).  Along with acting, she also loves to play the piano, which she has been doing for 9 years.  She hopes you enjoy the show and have a happy holiday season!

Charles Dickens
John plays the role of Charles Dickens in his first community stage performance. Recently retired, John spends his time making distressed wooden American flags, catching up on decades of procrastinated reading and whatever else is on his “Honey Do” list.  John is the proud father of 5 amazing, adult children, and  celebrates his 39th wedding anniversary with Laurie during this week of performances.

Jeff Gibelius (Ghost of Christmas Present) is a local pastor, husband, and dad. Prior to this staging of A Christmas Carol he participated in Players on High’s radio productions of It’s a Wonderful Life (2020) and Dear Brutus (2021). 


Ben Greensberg

Bob Cratchit
Ben Greenberg is excited to play Scrooge’s clerk, Bob Cratchit. This is Ben’s second show at the Carlisle Theatre, following his performance as Mr. Green in Clue. Ben also writes and directs. His short play Pagliacci Justice was selected for the first HACC New Works Festival and performed in 2018. The play has been produced twice more since. Ben is currently working on his next performance as Geoffrey in The Lion in Winter, playing at the Little Theatre of Mechanicsburg in January 2022. Ben graduated from Shippensburg University in 2019 with a degree in middle-level education and a minor in theatre. He loves his job as a substitute teacher in the Carlisle Area School District. He hopes you enjoy the show!

David Lang

Ebeneezer Scrooge
Dave was most recently seen at Carlisle Theater as Richard Feynman in QED. He is thrilled to be bringing Scrooge to life this holiday season. He has been very active in the virtual theater scene during Covid, with 27 virtual shows under his belt. Dave has performed locally at Lebanon Community Theater (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum), HCPAC (Back to the 80’s) and Hershey Area Playhouse (The Homecoming, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, The Little Mermaid). He enjoys competitive ping-pong and is an avid board gamer. It has been a pleasure to work with these wonderful cast members.


Megan Lavalley

Megan plays the roles of Street Boy and Ignorance. She is 11 years old and this is her first time on stage. Megan is a 5th grader at Crestview Elementary School in Carlisle and she loves to hang out with her friends and family, including her dog and 2 cats. She is a wonderful artist who enjoys video games and traveling to big cities. 


R.J. Lesch.

R. J. Lesch lives in Carlisle with his wife Laura Rumley, and is delighted to be part of Carlisle Players On High. R.J. made his directorial debut earlier in 2021 with QED. He performed as Uncle Billy in It's a Wonderful Life and was cast as Elwood Dowd in Harvey, which was delayed due to COVID. Previously, R. J. worked with Punchinello Players in St. Paul, MN, performing in The Time of Your Life and Our Town, as well as providing offstage support for several other shows.

Catie Mo returns to the Carlisle stage as a member of Players on High playing Mrs. Fezziwig and the laundress and as stage manager, props master and scene dresser. She wishes to thank the cast, crew and squad of volunteers that have made this show a wonderful experience! Catie dedicates this show to Patience.

Ghost of Christmas Past
Hadley plays the role of Ghost of Christmas Past and has performed in various theatre productions in Central Pennsylvania and Maryland. She lives in Carlisle and is a freshman at Harrisburg Academy. In her spare time, she enjoys playing soccer, listening to music, and participating in Quiz Bowl competitions.

Liliana "Lily" Rice is delighted to be making her theater debut playing multiple roles, including Belle's Daughter and Want. She is 12 years old and attends middle school in Carlisle. Lily's favorite hobbies are singing and playing music, as well as spending time with her family.

Charlotte plays the role of Belinda Cratchit, and this is her first time on stage. She is in 3rd grade at St. Patrick School. Charlotte loves to do arts and crafts, read, sing, and enjoys popcorn and movie nights. She lives at Carlisle Barracks with her mom, dad and little brother.

Rick Sheffe is slowly becoming a regular in our productions. He recently played Colonel Mustard in PoH’s production of “Clue”. He also played the Wolf in our 2017 production of “Into the Woods”. Since then, he has been an active member of our Players on High Committee, and extremely busy on set builds for many of our productions, including this one. Before coming to us in 2017, Rick was on extended (23 year!) hiatus from performing to be husband and Dad, the roles he loves playing most! As a youngster, Rick was very active in theater playing Charlie Brown in “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown”, Oscar in “The Odd Couple”, Prince Chulalongkorn in “The King and I”, and various ensemble roles in school, community, and collegiate theater. Rick says he loves being part of the PoH productions because it is such a unique way of meeting different people in the community, and working with such hidden talent!

This Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning drama will be presented at Virginia Rep's November Theatre (114 West Broad Street) beginning February 7th, 2020 with two preview performances on Wednesday, February 5th and Thursday, February 6th. August Wilson's powerful masterwork will be onstage through March 1st. Fences is presented as part of the Acts of Faith Festival.
