Auditions:
Virtual Auditions Due March 29th. In person Auditions March 29 from 6:30-10 pm. @ Utah Cultural Celebration Center
Callbacks: Saturday, April 2, 2022 @ Utah Cultural Celebration Center
Rehearsals: Rehearsals will begin on Saturday, April 9, 2022
Tech rehearsals: June 11- June 22, 2022
Performances: June 23- July 16, 2022 at the West Valley Performing Arts Center
Performance and Rehearsal Info: 16 total performances. All roles are single cast and paid (see payment info.) You must be available for all performance dates. Rehearsals will be scheduled as follows: Tuesday-Friday 6:30-10:00 pm and Saturday mornings 9am - 2 pm
Audition Info:
Virtual Audition Submissions will be open until March 29th. For a virtual audition, please sign up for an audition slot and then choose video submission, you do not need to select a time. In the video, please provide a slate and the requested vocal selection (see audition requirements.) If i you wish to audition in person, please sign up for a time slot on March 29th from 6:30-10 pm. Callbacks are in person and by invitation only. They will be held on Saturday April 2, from 9 am-1 pm at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center.
West Valley Arts encourages actors of any ethnicity, identity and ability to audition. All roles are open. If the script requires strict adherence to any characteristic(s), those will be listed in the character description. Performers must be 18+.
Synopsis
In the Heights tells the universal story of a vibrant community in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood – a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It’s a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams and pressures, where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions you take with you, and which ones you leave behind.
