An accompanist will be provided at the audition- please bring your sheet music, as well as a headshot/resume.

While some roles have been cast, we are still seeking actors for the following roles:

MEN’S ROLES
CHAD

Type: 1980’s, wealthy jock who seems initially vapid but is revealed has a soft side. Multi-layered. Think Emiio Estevez in “Breakfast Club”. This person also needs a top-line voice, likely a tenor.

SPAZ
Type: Classic 80’s movie nerd, a little bit Ducky from “Pretty In Pink” and Anthony Michael Hall from “Breakfast Club”. Sex crazed, so he’s less a “science lab” nerd and more of the kid who just craves more than he’s ever had and doesn’t know how to get it. Wimpy, but ultimately likable. Good voice for a surprise knock-out song.

VINCE
Type: Our 80’s, punk guy. Always angry, rebels against everything. Doesn’t need strong vocals, but if he can belt on key that would help.

PRINCIPAL WHITEY/MR. SCHLEPER
Type: Think Morgan Freeman in “Lean On Me”, an older, African American actor who can play the tough-as-nails principal, then turn on a dime and the softer, 1980’s eccentric dad. Need not be a top-line singer. Should be able to rap with dexterity and confidence for “Principal’s Rap.”

WOMEN’S ROLE

TRISH DETATER / KAT

Types: Should be able to play Trish, the 80’s girl who’s trying very hard to be loved and popular. Need not be “80’s hot”, just needs to be the hot girl’s best friend. Also, Kat, an angst ridden Goth girl.
