Tuesday, October 24 - 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm, in one-hour increments.
Call-backs, if necessary, will be - Thursday, October 26 - 7:00pm
Run Dates of Show:
February 2 - 25, 2024
Performance Dates are:
Friday & Saturday at 8:00pm
Sunday at 3:00pm
Call time is one hour prior to curtain.
A stipend of $100.00 will be paid for all actors cast in the show.
We encourage all Black performers to audition.
Info about the show and production:
It is 1936, and Boy Willie arrives in Pittsburgh from the South in a battered truck loaded with watermelons to sell. He has an opportunity to buy some land down home, but he has to come up with the money right quick. He wants to sell an old piano that has been in his family for generations, but he shares ownership with his sister, and it sits in her living room. She has already rejected several offers because the antique piano is covered with incredible carvings detailing the family’s rise from slavery. Boy Willie tries to persuade his stubborn sister that the past is past, but she is more formidable than he anticipated.

Rehearsals start in December
Rehearsals will be Sunday thru Thursday 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm and additions if needed.
CONFLICTS - “Not at this time” is not an answer. We will only consider 2 conflicts for the run of the rehearsal process. Any more is at the discretion of the director. No conflicts are allowed for the mandatory tech week or performances. If you are auditioning for another show, please let us know.
There might be roles that require hair changes for characters to complete the directors “look” for the show. There might be a time when specific costume designs will be required for the character. Please let the theatre know if you have any costume or fabric choices in which you are not comfortable. The Director will be available to discuss these hair design/costuming decisions with you.
Mandatory Tech Week - January 28 - February 1, 2024
CASTING:
Cast Size: 5 males (ages 25 - 60), 2 females (ages 25-35) & 1 girl (play 10 - 12ish)
Piano skills are a plus.
For auditions, please prepare the following:
* Bring a current head shot and resume
* Be prepared for cold readings from the script
* Schedule an appointment
* Fill out an audition form that will be provided at the door
