The Perks of Being a Wallflower - Prime Stage Theatre
Prime Stage Theatre Announces Auditions for The Perks of Being a Wallflower Saturday, January 14, 2017 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and Sunday, January 15, 2017 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Prime Stage Studio 840 Saw Mill Run Blvd. Pittsburgh, PA 15220 Director Jeffrey Cordell is casting diverse non-equity actors and actresses between the ages of 14 to 65 for The Perks of Being a Wallflower. For this production, the Director envisions an ensemble piece where all actors play throughout in the paradox of “engaged wallflowers.” Please see the character list below for available roles. Actors should prepare the following: ? a 60-90 second monologue from any realistic American domestic play AND ? a 30-second pantomime (sounds, but no words or props) of a specific, personal, physical ritual which reveals behavior and thought process through the body (such as brushing your teeth, opening your locker at school between periods, or checking a cell phone for Facebook updates). The pantomime should be different in feeling/tone than the monologue selection and interpretation. It will ideally offer an honest glimpse of YOU rather than your skill with a character. ** Please avoid selecting a monologue from blocks of dramatic narration such as Tom’s speeches in Glass Menagerie or Eugene’s in Brighton Beach Memoirs.** Auditions are by appointment only. Please email auditions@primestage.com to request an appointment starting Tuesday, January 2, 2017. Please include your full name, phone number, and preferred date and time by Friday, January 13th, at 5pm. You will receive an email confirming your appointment date and time within 24-48 hours.
