SCERA to hold auditions for “The Sound of Music” on April 9-10

SCERA announces auditions for its summer production of
the musical classic “The Sound of Music,” directed by Jeremy Showgren.
It will play July 5-20 on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays @
8:00pm at the SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre in Orem.

Auditions will be held Tuesday, April 9 or Wednesday, April 10 from
6-9pm. Children ages 6 and older may audition from 6-7:30pm and adults
18 and older may audition from 7:30-9pm. No appointment is necessary
to audition. All roles are open and available. Those invited to
callbacks on Saturday, April 13 will participate in a dance audition.

Auditioners should prepare to sing 16 measures of a song from a
Broadway golden-age musical (1940’s-1960’s). An accompanist
(preferred method) or IPOD playback will be provided. There are some
non-singing adult male roles available – if any men are interested
strictly in those roles, they should prepare a one minute or less
monologue in lieu of a song.
