The Rocky Horror Show!

PERFORMANCE DATES: September 8-10 and 15-17
Rehearsals begin in June; 3 times a week.

Do you sing? Do you dance? Are you freaking fabulous? ShenanArts wants you to be a part of our production of The Rocky Horror Show. This is not a shadow performance, the film won’t be playing in the background. This is the live stage version of the film!

Sunday, May 7 from 6:30 - 9:30 pm
Callbacks (if needed): Tuesday, May 9 at 6:00 pm

Note: All actors must be 18 years of age or older. Some roles are gender flexible.

? Please arrive a few minutes early to fill out the necessary forms. Plan to stay for the entire audition time.

? All those auditioning will be singing tracks from the show.
If you are auditioning for a specific role: Please be prepared to sing the song/s listed below for your chosen character.
If you are auditioning for ensemble: Pick your favorite song from the show that highlights your skills.
If there is a particular track you’ve found that you sound the best in, bring it!
We are looking to see you PERFORM THE HECK OUT OF IT, regardless of your musical ability.

? There will be a short dance audition. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes you can move well in. **If you are auditioning for Columbia** bring your tap shoes. If you have a fabulously impressive dance skill that could work in place of tapping, we'd like to see it.

? There will be cold readings from the script.

Innocent Brad and Janet find themselves seeking shelter at a mysterious old castle on a dark and stormy night, where they encounter transvestite Dr. Frank 'n' Furter, his perfect creation Rocky, and an assortment of other crazy creatures.

USHERETTES/USHERS: Gender flexible, Age Flexible (Range: Mezzo Soprano Belt, Bb3-Eb5)
Frank’s servants.

BRAD: Male, 20-35 (Range: Bari Tenor, Bb2-G4)
Quirky, but very much in love with his fiancé, Janet. Overly optimistic at times.
? Sing “Damnit, Janet”, may be asked to sing “Once in Awhile” so know that too.

JANET: Female, 20-35 (Range: Mezzo Soprano Belt, A3-Eb5)
Good girl who is madly in love with Brad. Always seems to be frightened of something. Keeps losing more of her clothes throughout the story. Emotionally weak and caves into pressure easily.
? Sing “ Touch-a, Touch-a, Touch Me”. May be asked to sing some of “Superheroes

NARRATORS: Pre-cast

RIFF RAFF: Gender flexible, 20-50 (Range: High Rock Tenor, D3-B4) Creepy man resembling more of a zombie. Often makes harmless conversation seem awkward and foreboding. One of Frank’s servants.
? Sing “Time Warp”, may be asked to sing part of “Over at the Frankenstein Place

COLUMBIA: Gender flexible, Age Flexible (Range: Mezzo Soprano Belt, E4-E5) One of Frank’s servants. Fun and funny.
? Sing “Time Warp”.

MAGENTA: Gender flexibe, Age Flexible. (Range : Mezzo, Top C/D). Rock belter type. Frank's maid. Riff Raff's sister. She is slightly dangerous.
? Sing Time Warp

FRANK 'N' FURTER: Transvestite, 25-45 (Range: Baritone, D3-G4)
Master of the castle. Welcomes Janet and Brad with open arms. Obsessed with creating a man. Master of seduction. Owns the stage.
? Sing “Sweet Transvestite”, may be asked to sing “I’m Going Home

ROCKY: Male 18-35 (Range: Tenor, A3-G4)
Frank’s magnificent creation. Attractive man with prominent muscles. Will be shirtless the whole show.
? Sing “Sword of Damocles”.

EDDIE Male, 28-50 (Range: Baritone, E3-F#4)
Eddie, delivery man, “went to pieces.” Misses the rock and role of life. Comes back to life only to die after his solo.
? Sing “Hot Patootie”

DR. SCOTT: Gender flexible, 35 - upwards
Eddies Uncle (or Aunt)
