SCERA’s Theatre for Young Audiences sets August 23 auditions for “The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley”

(Orem, Utah) – SCERA is holding auditions for its upcoming Theatre for Young Audiences production “The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley,” a one hour musical based on the children’s book by Jeff Brown.

The show is performed by a cast of adult actors and is designed to bring the magic of live theatre to young children and families.

“The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley” will be directed by Julie Nevin, with music direction by Andrew Walsh and choreography by Shawn Mortensen. It will play in Showhouse II at the SCERA Center for the Arts October 15-November 2. 10am matinees for elementary school groups will be held Monday-Friday and public shows will be 7:00pm on Mondays and Fridays. Cast members must be available for morning rehearsals and matinee performances.

Auditions will be held on Thursday, August 23 from 7-9pm at the SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State, Orem. Auditioners age 12 to adult should prepare to sing 16 measure of an upbeat style Broadway song that shows character. An accompanist or IPOD playback will be provided. No appointment is necessary to audition.
