GLIMMERGLASS FESTIVAL TO HOLD AUDITIONS FOR 'THE SOUND OF MUSIC,'
'THE JUNGLE BOOK'

Youth ages 6 to 18 and Adults Encouraged to Audition

The Glimmerglass Festival will hold
auditions for both acting and singing roles in the 2020 Festival productions on February 8 and 9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The company is casting youth of any gender/ethnicity ages 6 to 18 to perform in
The Sound of Music,
Die Feen (The Fairies) and the world premiere youth opera
The Jungle Book. Additionally, The Glimmerglass Festival is auditioning local adults, ages 40 and older, for acting roles in the upcoming production of The Sound of Music.

Singers should prepare one age-appropriate song from American folk, musical theater or school music repertoire (no rock or pop music). Singers should also bring a copy of sheet music for the provided accompanist. Actors auditioning for adult roles will be asked to read sides.

Music and staging rehearsal dates and information specific to each production will be available at the auditions, but performers must be available for on-stage rehearsals and performances beginning mid-June through late August.
