Liken’s “The First Christmas” to hold auditions Sept. 28-29 for world stage premiere musical at SCERA

SCERA is holding auditions for a world premiere holiday musical being co-produced with Liken called “The First Christmas.” It is being directed by Michael Carrasco and will play on the Showhouse II stage at the SCERA Center for the Arts November 30 to December 22 on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays @ 7:30pm.

Auditions will be held Friday, September 28 from 7-9pm and Saturday, September 29 from 10am-12Noon at the SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State, Orem. Auditioners age 12 to adult should prepare to sing 16 bars of a Broadway-style song. An accompanist or IPOD playback will be provided. No appointment is necessary to audition.

There are roles for youth and adults of all ages, as well as a large ensemble. Roles include Mary, Joseph, Zacharias, Elisabeth, Gabriel the Angel, Wise Men, Shepherds, King Herod, and a variety of ensemble characters in the ancient and modern-day world. There are two adult lead roles for a Mom and Dad that are non-singing roles - those interested in auditioning for those parts should prepare a one minute comic monologue. The director is also looking for a girl that can play middle-school-age for the lead youth role of Amelia.
