The Missoula Community Theatre kicks off the 2022-2023 season with auditions for
The Addams Family, the ghoulish musical comedy reminiscent of the 1960’s television series. The
open auditions are Sunday, August 28 th. The music score calls for a wide vocal range. There are 11
roles to be cast including Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday and Pugsley Addams, Uncle Fester, Lurch,
and a host of others---including ghostly, dancing ancestors!
Note: The audition will be split into two segments:
10:30AM to Noon for boys 10-13 years old for the role of Pugsley
Noon to 3PM for all other people ages 16 and older
Callbacks as needed will follow from 3-5PM.
Please use the main street entrance and proceed to the 3 rd floor to complete the audition form.
The Addams Family audition is open to all people in the ages listed above and no previous
preparation is required. The process involves singing, movement, dance and reading from the
script.
James Rio is the show’s director. James is a freelance director, music director, singer and actor
who has performed throughout the United States and Europe. His directing credits include Les
Misérables, The Sound of Music, Avenue Q, Into the Woods, Heathers the Musical, among many
others. In Missoula, James conducted, music directed and played keys in MCT productions, and
taught at the University of Montana as an adjunct faculty member. Rounding out the artistic team
is Gregory Boris/Music Director and Colleen Rosbarsky/Choreographer. The performance dates are
October 20-30, 2022, at the MCT Center for the Performing Arts.
There are no perusal scripts available at MCT, but much can be found online about the musical.
