ABOUT THE CONTRACT - PLEASE READ THIS FULL AD FOR ALL OF THE DETAILS ON WHAT TO PREPARE AND WHAT TO EXPECT.

For 59 years, Millbrook Playhouse has offered up-and-coming theatre artists a unique opportunity to add practical, hands-on experience to their resumes. Millbrook Playhouse is a traditional summer theatre housed in a converted dairy barn with two stages, a 246-seat thrust stage and a 100-seat Cabaret Theatre. The Main Stage season comprises three large-scale musicals and two Theatre Camps, and the Cabaret season consists of three smaller plays and one TYA show.

Main Stage Summer Season:

  • Camelot small cast version (reh: Sun. June 12 – Thur. June 23; runs; Fri. June 23 – Sat., July 2.)
  • Jersey Boys (reh: Sun. June 26 – Thur. July 7; runs Fri. July 8 – Sat. July 23,)
  • Rent (reh: on or about Wed. July 13 – Thur. July 28, runs Fri. July 29 – Sun. August 7.) *possible extension

Cabaret Summer Season:

  • Sidekicked (reh: Sun. May 22 – Thur. June 2 runs: Fri. June 3- Sun. June 12.)
  • Ken Ludwig’s Dear Jack, Dear Louise (reh: Sun. June 5 – Thur. June 16, runs: Fri.,June 17 – Sun. June 26.)
  • Misery (reh: Sun. July 24 – Thur. August 4, runs: Fri., August 4 – Sun. August 14.) *possible extension

  • Theatre For Young Audiences: James and the Giant Peach. Rehearsals TBD.

IMPORTANT: This contract is a Non-Union Summer Stock Contract with little room for negotiation with pay rate. Please review all of the Breakdown details BEFORE submitting. You may be cast in one or more shows or even the whole season. If you know you cannot accept this contract, please do not submit.

PLEASE PREPARE THE FOLLOWING TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE SUMMER SEASON:

  • For musicals: Please send two cuts (16-ish bars each) of contrasting styles based on the shows and roles you would like to be considered. Please also send a dance/movement reel.
  • For the straight plays: A short monologue in the style of or from the shows. Please keep it to one minute.
  • Please send links to all videos. Direct files and downloads are not accepted and will not be viewed.
  • At this time, callbacks will be held virtually for this season.
  • We will contact you ONLY if we need you to prepare sides.

  • DEADLINE for submission is March 25th, 2022 at 9 am.

ABOUT THE CONTRACT:

  • Guest Performers are paid weekly and may need to commit to one or two shows. (please note some actors may be required to sign back-to-back contracts) Principal Roles – $250-$300. Supporting Roles – $200-$250. BOE
  • Acting intern/resident company should be an early-career actor, will do minor tech or admin duties. All roles open for interns, cast in multiple shows; kid show. Pay is a minimum of $100 a week. Please indicate if you are interested in an acting internship in your submission;
  • Housing provided for out-of-town actors;
  • Actors required to with ALL strikes;
  • Bus or transportation reimbursement to and from Millbrook Playhouse provided for people traveling from the tri-state area.
  • On-site round trip transportation provided to and from the housing.
  • Dinner is provided on all working days. (Catered from local restaurants.)

Millbrook Playhouse is a NON-UNION theatre company and, therefore, unable to give EMC points. We are committed to diversity in casting for all roles.

Please note as of 2/22 all employees must be fully vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus before arrival in P.A. and will be required to be tested for the Covid-19 virus and have a negative test result 72 hours before arriving. Proof of negative test shall be required on the day of arrival. Subject to change.
