Description:
Bright Star Touring Theatre is casting one African American actor for an upcoming tour which will take place in Washington State. Bright Star is a nationally touring professional theatre company which produces more than 900 performances each year in theatres, schools, museums and libraries across the country. Our programs have been seen everywhere from Washington DC to Moscow Russia!
We are currently seeking an actor for the following roles:
A male actor, 23-32 years of age, average build, African American: to be the principal role in productions of Struggle for Freedom: the Life of Dr. King and George Washington Carver and Friends.
Time Commitment:
This tour begins rehearsal December 30th and concludes on January 25th. Actor must be willing to tour in Washington State during that time.
Compensation:
During performance weeks, pay is $400 a week. Rehearsal week is unpaid for seven days of rehearsal. While on tour, all travel, vehicle, and hotel expenses are paid for by the company.
Additional Information:
Applicants must have a clean driving record and a clean criminal record. These tours are ideal for strong character actors who have an interest in performing for young audiences and family audiences.

Material To Prepare:
Please prepare one monologue no more than 2 minutes in length, film it, and email to erin@brightstartheatre.com. This does not have to be a professional-quality film; can be filmed with a lap top, etc. We can also accept monologues you have filmed for other auditions.
Actors will be sent scripts upon receiving a contract and asked to arrive to rehearsals off-book.
