"Splash-Works!" - new plays program


WRITE A PLAY! Professionals will evaluate your entry, and if you're one of the winners your play will receive a production, as a staged reading. There are 4 scheduled for 2015.

WHO MAY SUBMIT? Californians (native to San Diego) over the age of 18 as of June 1, 2014.

WHEN? Entries must be received no later than November 14, 2014 and be in .doc form only. Scripts will be produced, as staged readings, on February 15th, May 17th, August 16th, and November 15th of 2015 at 7:00pm at:
San Diego Writers Ink.

Everyone will be notified via e-mail by December 19, 2014.
WHAT?
• Original scripts only.
• Subject, style, and form are up to you.
• Length must be a minimum of ten-twelve, typed pages using play format.
• No play should be longer than 90 minutes.
• Musicals, screenplays, teleplays or adaptations of another author’s work will not be accepted.
• San Diego residents only.
• Small cast size.
HOW?
? Type the script using play format.
? Number the pages.
? Title page requirements: title of play, your name, address, phone, and e-mail address.
? Only include your name on the cover page. Scripts are read anonymously, so please do not put your name on page headers, footers, etc.
? Optionally, include a brief cover letter about yourself and why you wrote this play; tell us if you would like a written script evaluation.

Mission Statement
The Poolhouse Project elevates and increases the visibility of its membership in the San Diego theater community by:
• Offering free, creative, weekly workshops in a safe constructive environment

• Disseminating theatrical news and resource

• Providing opportunities to showcase both emerging and experienced directors and performers
via staged readings

• Encouraging local playwrights by performing new plays via quarterly staged readings

• Contributing philathropically to local and internal theatrical endeavors

To become an active member, you must be nominated by a current member and approved by a consensus. Qualified nominees must be active in the San Diego theater community. Once you are accepted as a member, you will be added to our face-book group, as well. After a few months, if you have not attended any of the meetings, your membership in the group will be re-evaluated.
