SEMINAR - Academy Theatre

The Academy Theatre is holding Auditions for 'Seminar' by Theresa Rebeck.
They will take place in person.

4 young writers hire a well known experienced writer to critique their work over 10 weeks.

Auditions are Noon to 4 PM Saturday, February 12 and 6 until 9 PM Sunday, the 13th. at the Academy Theatre, 599 N. Central Ave in Hapeville.

The show pays a stipend and runs April 28 - May 08, 2022 This is an R rated show. There is strong language, sexual scenes, and more.

Characters:

Douglas - Nephew of a famous playwright from Harvard. He can actually write, but is constantly accused of name dropping.

Kate - The seminar's host, Bennington Graduate, and someone whose writing is often criticized.

Martin - A writer who is struggling financially. He is afraid to show his work to anyone and is a bit nebbishy. Leonard - The plays 'Professor' he has long, dramatic history as a writer & editor.

Izzy - Deemed a good writer from the beginning, she is at the center of the group's romantic conflicts and will do what she has to do to get her work published.

Please do have a brief (1 minute) monologue and be prepared to cold read and to show you can curse.

Covid Policy: We are asking all those auditioning to be Covid Negative, to mask (n-95 Prefered) , and you'll be expect to test twice weekly through out the process. We would prefer a vaccinated cast, though we will make medical and religious exemptions.
