SCERA announces auditions for “Shrek: The Musical” on June 26-27
“Shrek: The Musical” will open SCERA's 2013-2014 indoor season at the SCERA Center for the Arts and will play September 13-28, 2013 on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays @ 7:30pm. Auditions will be held Wednesday, June 26 or Thursday, June 27 from 6-10pm in Room 201 at the SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State, Orem. Chase Ramsey is directing, with music direction by David Smith, set design by Steve Purdy and light design by Brian Healy.
Auditioners ages 5 to adult should prepare to sing 16 measures of a musical theatre song. All roles are open. The director is looking for an African American male to play Donkey and boys ages 5-8 for young Shrek and girls ages 9-12 for young Fiona. An accompanist or IPOD playback will be provided, but using an accompanist is preferred. No appointment is necessary to audition. If you have a resume and headshot, it is helpful, but not required.
