Open audition call for Shout! A Cappella Musical. Students ages 10 and up are
encouraged to try out for parts in this full-length musical production. Those
auditioning will be asked to read from the script and sing a portion of
“Somewhere Over the Rainbow” A Capella as-well-as sing some scales.
Des Moines Onstage is proud to be presenting its first summer production at the
Des Moines Social Club. Shout is a new musical about a group of teenagers
who struggle with how best to express themselves. Both speaking and singing
roles available. Light dancing. There are 21+ parts and a Barber Shop Quartet!
Back-stage and productions staff positions also available for those interested.
The cast size will be between 21 and 25. There are parts for all singing levels.
We will need a combination of strong solo voices as well as many ensemble
voices. One of the main components is the “Vocal Orchestra.” They provide the
support and accompaniment for the solos and will be onstage for the whole
production. This will be comprised of our strongest 6-10 singers.
This is a unique, hilarious, and fun show with some cool and current messages &
themes. This show will be a nice challenge for us as a group and for the cast
members.
