Say It Loud/Golem Productions will hold auditions for this adaption of Oscar Saul and Louis Lantz's Revolt of the Beavers to be performed at the 2018 Minnesota Fringe Festival. Justin M. Kirkeberg (Artistic Director of Candid Theater Co) directs Kit Bix's version of the Federal Theater Project’s controversial “children’s play” about the exploitation of labor and of nature, the equitable distribution of resources and the power of collective action. The "Fringe" Revolt explores issues of social justice through the lens of this decades-old enchantment narrative while shedding light on a crucial episode in the history of theater for social change.
Auditions will take place on Thursday, May 24th at the Phoenix Theater, 2605 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis, from 6:30-10:00 pm. Please prepare a 1-2 minute dramatic contemporary monologue plus 16 bars from a song of your choice. We are seeking 10 actors. Age, race, gender are all relative. Alternatively abled artists are highly encouraged to audition. Actors will receive a stipend.
Rehearsals will be scheduled in consideration of actors conflicts and will run from the last week in June through Aug. 2nd. Performances will take place Mixed Blood Theater on:
