LAS VEGAS – Local HIV/AIDS nonprofit
Golden Rainbow is accepting talent submissions for the 27th annual “Ribbon of Life” fundraising spectacular now through Friday, April 5. “Ribbon of Life” will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 30 at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts.

This year’s show, “Tributes,” will showcase a wide spectrum of tribute-themed performances from contemporary to classic, Broadway to movies, pop to hip-hop, music videos, television and political comedy. All singers, dancers, performers, artists and choreographers are invited to showcase their best original numbers for a chance to participate in one of the greatest shows of the year. Golden Rainbow is seeking thrilling stage acts that encompass a complete theatrical experience.

The casting call requires one-of-a-kind productions that have not been previously performed in Las Vegas. Talent may include solo, duet, small cast (fewer than 10 performers) and large cast or montage acts. All entries must be submitted to Golden Rainbow via hand delivery, mail or email by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 5. Email submissions can be sent to Shannon Hardin at
smhardin@me.com. For a complete list of guidelines and the submission form, please visit

“Ribbon of Life” was started 27 years ago by members of the entertainment industry who saw a need for a support system when one of their colleagues faced HIV/AIDS. To raise awareness and money to fight the disease, entertainers organized a show. The show, then called “Golden Rainbow,” led to the creation of the
nonprofitorganization. The annual event is one of the largest HIV/AIDS fundraisers in the state of Nevada and is Golden Rainbow’s main source of revenue.

In 2012, “Ribbon of Life” drew a record-setting crowd of 1,630 during its debut at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts. It raised more than $200,000, topping the previous year by $40,000, for the HIV/AIDS nonprofit. Memorable numbers included “Rhythm Of Life” by Phantom – The Las Vegas Spectacular, “Circle of Life” by children’s group Broadway in The Hood, “Rock of Ages” by the famous Las Vegas Tenors, “Suite From Porgy and Bess” by Clint Holmes and more.

Tickets and sponsorship information will be available for purchase in the coming weeks. All proceeds benefit Golden Rainbow’s mission to provide housing and direct financial assistance to Southern Nevadans living with HIV/AIDS and to support prevention education.
