JOIN THE QPAC CHOIR IN 2013
How about starting the New Year on a high note and auditioning to join the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) Choir.
Auditions for the choir’s 2013 season will be held from 21–23 January at QPAC.
Formed in 2008, the QPAC Choir is a contemporary community choir for singers aged 18 years and over.
The choir is an initiative of QPAC and is managed as part of QPAC’s artistic program, with the choir involved in a number of performances throughout the year. In 2013 performances will include the Best of British with the Queensland Pops Orchestra (13 April), QPAC Choir Showcase concert (18 June),Brisbane Sings (7 September), Brisbane Open House (5 October), Christmas in the City (11 December), and QPAC’s iconic Spirit of Christmas concerts (20 and 21 December).
QPAC Chief Executive John Kotzas said the continued development of the QPAC Choir was an important objective for the Centre.
“The QPAC Choir brings together the local community, performers from all backgrounds who have a shared love of creating music, and gives them various opportunities for showcasing their repertoire throughout the year, from outdoor community events, to performing on a grand scale in our Concert Hall.
“Something magical happens when a group of individuals sing together. I encourage people who have a love of singing to come and audition later this month and join in what is a fun and fulfilling experience, under the expert direction of Chorus Master, Tim Sherlock and with input from a range of other professional musicians,” Mr Kotzas said.
If you would like to audition, or know of anyone who might like to audition, QPAC is now calling for registrations. In particular the choir would like to recruit more male members to add to its tenor and bass sections.

choir@qpac.com.au - telling us your: Full Name, Gender, Voice Type (if known), and Email Address. You will then be sent an official audition form to complete and return.
Auditions are held individually and you will be required to prepare and sing a one (1) minute song of your choice unaccompanied. The atmosphere is always friendly and supportive. These will be the only auditions held for the QPAC Choir in 2013.
The year is divided into two semesters: Term 1 (4 February – 25 March 2013) and Term 2 (8 April – 17 June 2013); and then Term 3 (8 July – 16 September 2013) and Term 4 (7 October – 9 December 2013). The cost is $120 for a two term semester.
