PUSS IN BOOTS and BESSIE'S BIG SHOT - Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre

The Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre is seeking professional puppeteers, actors and dancers who share a passion for puppetry and children's theater, and who are seeking on-going daytime, part-time work performing. Puppetry and marionette experience is preferred, but not required. The Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre, under the direction of the City Parks Foundation, has presented children's marionette theatre in New York City's Central Park since 1947.


Qualified candidates must share an interest in learning and mastering marionette puppetry; be able to pick up stage direction and blocking quickly; enjoy working with children, parents and educators; and work a minimum of 12 hours per week, including weekdays, weekends and early mornings. Candidates must also be able to work from a 10-foot high marionette bridge; lift puppets and stage props up to 30 lbs; work within tight spaces; perform both indoors and outdoors; and stand for long periods of time.
