PHILLIS: THE AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARY - Redd Opera Theatre Co.

Description:
This is a historical drama about the youth of the first published activist poet of African descent. According to census records/documents of the period, Phillis grew up an only child; the only African (slave) child who resided in Boston during the American Revolution. The notion of "literally" being an ONLY CHILD and a prodigy in the Boston community at that time was intriguing and my inspiration.
