Auditions Announced for Placer Rep Fall Productions
All roles are available for a Sherlock Holmes world premiere, three stage readings of contemporary works, and a one-night-only murder mystery play as Placer Repertory Theater hosts open digital auditions for its Fall 2021 productions. The works are to be performed live onstage in the South Placer County area between September and
November and the audition notice is posted on Placer Rep’s website (https://PlacerRep.org). Nonunion performers with COVID vaccination and experience/training are encouraged to submit audition materials for these open roles
and will be paid to rehearse and perform.
Placer Rep’s Fall 2021 offerings include a one-night-only murder mystery play on October 1, stage readings of three new contemporary plays in September, October and November, and the World Premiere of T.S. Forsyth’s Sherlock Holmes: The Sign of the Four in October. Sherlock Holmes: The Sign of the Four is a comedic detective story based upon the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and the playwright uses this story to explore the passive-aggressivity characteristic of close relationships, including the inherent power and status shifts, in-part, through the use of dueling narrators as performed by an ensemble of six actors playing multiple roles.
The audition notice is posted on Placer Rep’s website and includes all the digital audition requirements and recommendations. Callbacks are anticipated to be held the week of Monday, August 23. Those invited to call-back auditions shall receive further instruction in Mid-August. Rehearsal schedules for each of the productions are based upon each cast’s availability. Digital submissions for those who are not cast are saved and reviewed for future casting opportunities.
