South Bend Civic Theatre announces auditions for the Studio drama One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest!

South Bend Civic Theatre will hold auditions for the Studio production One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest February 11 and 12 from 7:30 PM to 10 PM in the Warner Studio Theatre. Director Terry Farren is seeking a large and diverse group of talented actors to take on the celebrated story. The cast features many excellent roles for adult actors (16 men, 5 women).

One sane man, sentenced to a mental hospital to avoid prison, inspires his fellow inmates as he rebels against the rigid authority of the tyrannical head nurse. In the intimate confines of the Warner Studio, a moving, funny, and powerful story that breaks the bonds of madness and conformity.

The production opens in the Warner Studio Theatre April 12 and runs through April 21.

Scripts are available to check out with a refundable $10 deposit from the Box Office (open 12-6 weekdays; call 574-234-1112 for script availability).

South Bend Civic Theatre productions feature volunteer actors drawn from the Michiana region. Most non-musical auditions consist of “cold readings” from the script and directors attempt to schedule rehearsals around individual conflicts as best they can. SBCT welcomes and encourages actors of all experience levels, from novices eager to get the acting bug to seasoned veterans, to their auditions. SBCT is also committed to reflecting the diversity of the community and encourages and welcomes actors of all backgrounds to audition.
