ONCE ON THIS ISLAND - On Pitch Performing Arts

On Pitch Performing Arts (OPPA!)

Announces Auditions for “Once On This Island”

October 6th

“Mama Will Provide!”

This song is the upbeat heart song of the Tony award winning musical “Once On This Island”.

And On Pitch Performing Arts in Layton is providing performers a chance at performing in this outstanding show!

The story follows Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues a wealthy boy from the other side of the island, Daniel. Ti Moune falls in love with Daniel in spite of the difference in their social castes. The pompous gods who preside over the island make a bet with one another over which is stronger, love or death. The stakes? Ti Moune’s life! Will her determination and capacity to love be enough to win Daniel's heart and save Ti Moune’s life?

“Once On This Island” will be directed by Bradley Hatch.

Auditions are from 6:00-10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6th at On Pitch Performing Arts, 587 N Main Street Layton, UT. Callbacks, if needed, will be by invitation on Saturday, October 10th at 10am. Open to ages 16 and up. All leading tribal roles will be POC. We strongly encourage actors of color to participate in auditions with emphasis on black actors and mixed-black actors. The gods are open to all genders and non-genders.

OPPA! takes the safety of performers, production teams, and audiences very seriously. After signing up for a time slot, auditioners will receive an email with all OPPA! Covid-19 safety policies and recommendations.

Our 20201 season is sponsored by First Community Bank.
