AUDITION NOTICE
Season Musicals: A Christmas Carol, Bright Star, The Color Purple and Kinky Boots
The Omaha Community Playhouse (OCP) is holding auditions for all musicals in the upcoming 2021/22 season on August 28, 29 and 30. This season’s musicals are A Christmas Carol, Bright Star, The Color Purple and Kinky Boots.

Notes: Auditions are by appointment only. Please contact Becky Deiber at bdeiber@omahaplayhouse.com to schedule an audition appointment and request audition paperwork and sides.
Auditions will last approximately 1-2 hours.
Those auditioning will be asked to read from the script provided at auditions.
When arriving to audition at the Playhouse, please enter through the Stage Door entrance on the West side of the building.
What To Bring: Please come prepared with 16 bars of music prepared to sing and the sheet music. An accompanist will be provided.
There will be a dance audition, so please come dressed ready to move. No boots, sandals, flip-flops, slick shoes, etc.
A recent photo to attached to your audition form. Please note, the photos do not need to be professional and will not be returned. Should you not have a photo, one will be taken at the time of the audition.

Compensation: Onstage performers over age 19 will be compensated $950 in total

Casting Notes: All roles are available except for Ebenezer Scrooge. Approximately 20 adults and 15 children will be cast.
Bright Star

Compensation: Onstage performers over age 19 will be compensated $700 in total
Performance Dates: Jan. 21 – Feb. 13, 2022
Theatre: Hawks Mainstage Theatre
Rehearsal Schedule: TBA
Casting Notes: Bright Star was cast and in rehearsal in 2020, prior to the pandemic.
As a result, some of the actors are unable to continue their commitment this season, allowing for a few roles to be newly cast.
The Color Purple

Compensation: Onstage performers over age 19 will be compensated $700 in total
Performance Dates: March 4 – 27, 2022

Casting Notes: The Color Purple was cast and in rehearsal in 2020, prior to the

Kinky Boots
Director: Ablan Roblin
Callbacks: Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.
Compensation: Onstage performers over age 19 will be compensated $825 in total
Performance Dates: May 27 – June 26, 2022
Theatre: Hawks Mainstage theatre
Rehearsal Schedule: TBA
Casting Notes: All roles are available.
Performances: Performances for these productions are Wednesdays - Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. in the Hawks Mainstage Theatre. Actors are called to the theatre one hour before curtain.
COVID-19 Protocols: In accordance with the CDC, if an individual is not vaccinated, they must wear a face mask. If an individual is vaccinated, they can decide whether to wear a face mask or not. All performers are required to be fully vaccinated. Proof of vaccination will be required upon casting.
