NORA BY INGMAR BERGMAN
THE SANTA PAULA THEATER CENTER, 125 So 7th St., Santa Paula announces auditions for its next Main Stage production, NORA by INGMAR BERGMAN, directed by Laurie Walters. Run dates for the production will be Sept. 11-Oct. 18, 2015
with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sunday Matinees at 2:30 pm.
AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY, JULY 18, 1-4 pm and SUNDAY, JULY 19, 6-9 pm at the CENTER, 125 So. 7th Street ( corner of Main and 7th) in downtown Santa Paula. Cold readings will be from the script with sides provided. No appointments are necessary. This is a non-union show. There is no pay. All roles are open.
“Nora” is an adaptation of Ibsen’s “A Doll House” by the famous filmmaker and stage director Ingmar Bergman. The play is set in Norway, in 1879. The characters are all close to the same age, preferably in their late twenties to late thirties, though we may cast the ensemble older or younger depending on auditions.
Torvald Helmer, works at a bank and has just been promoted to manager
Nora Helmer, his wife, mother of three, to all appearances an ideal 19th wife
Mrs. Linde, a childhood friend of Nora’s, widowed, seeking work
Nils Krogstad, an employee of Helmer, single father, financially desperate
Doctor Rank, a wealthy friend of the Helmer family, quietly in love with Nora, fatally ill
