The beloved children’s book series Flat Stanley is celebrating 50 years as a literary and pop cultural phenomenon, delighting readers and travelers around the world. Now this favorite two-dimensional hero comes to life on the stage! Ordinary, everyday 10 year old Stanley Lambchop wants to travel the world, do something amazing, something no one’s ever seen before. During one curious night’s sleep, something odd happens and Stanley wakes up flat! Excited for adventure, he departs on a whirlwind musical travelogue as the ultimate international exchange student. From Hollywood to France to Honolulu, Stanley’s journey includes thwarting a robbery at the Louvre Museum in Paris, and “hanging ten” off the coast of Hawaii, while he closes in on his goal of being a three-dimensional boy once more.
Actors and audience members can also choose to participate in The Flat Stanley Project, a uniquely multi-generational global activity fostering literacy. ACT students join over one million participants across 88 countries already involved.
Performances of Flat Stanley will be held on November 1 and 2, tickets are $15.00.
ACT was founded in 1987 by Zoe Bradford, Michael Joseph and Jordie Saucerman, with a mission to discover the creative spirit in each child in an enjoyable and challenging atmosphere and to build self-confidence through the experience of the arts.
