Cue Zero Theatre Company announces auditions for their June production of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Auditions will be Sunday March 13th from 3pm - 6pm and Tuesday March 15th from 6:00p - 9:00pm. Callbacks if needed are Thursday March 17th from 6-9pm. Those wishing to audition should sign up via
cztheatre.com and prepare two contrasting Shakespearean monologues totaling no more than four minutes combined. For callbacks, they should be prepared to read from the script. All auditions and rehearsals will take place at the Granite State Arts Academy in Salem, NH, with performances June 17-19th at the Derry Opera House.
Necormancy, political assassinations, falsified prophiecies, and many other dark and evil happenings are explored in Artistic Director Dan Pelletier’s female-driven interpretation of one of Shakespeare’s greatest plays. “It can be argued that all of the important action of the play is motivated by the ambitions and desires of Lady Macbeth,” states Pelletier, “and I want to lean into that; make her the central focus and maybe even the cause of every plot point. I’ve also always had an obsession with the paranormal and have been dying to do a piece where I can embrace that, so by accentuating the dark arts of the witches (and reimaging Lady Macbeth as a practitioner of witchcraft herself) I can finally achieve that dream.”
Rehearsal schedule will be built around actor availability with rehearsals three days a week Sunday-Thursday.
