ShenanArts announces auditions for LES MISÉRABLES

March 16 -- 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

March 22 -- 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

March 23 -- 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Information about the production

Performance dates: August 1-4 and 8-11 at ShenanArts nTelos Theatre, Staunton

Rehearsals begin mid April. Rehearsal schedule is TBA.

Approximately 35 roles are available, including leads and ensemble.

Some roles may be double cast (with an equal number of performances for each).

Some understudies or swings may also be cast.

Audition Requirements

Vocal and Movement skills will be assessed.

Vocal/Acting AUDITION LENGTH: 2 minute limit, including introduction. Auditionees may present cuts from 1 or 2 songs as long as they fit within the time limit. Time yourself. You will be stopped at 2 minutes.

SONGS: may NOT be from Les Misérables. Songs must be sung in English.

Cuts should be chosen to show vocal ability, range and acting skills. Make strong character choices!

Accompaniment:

--A pianist will be available - bring clearly marked scores.

--Outside accompanists are permitted.

--No microphones or sound system will be made available.

--A capella is not recommended, but will be permitted.

A movement session will follow the vocal audition. Dress comfortably so you can move. Don’t worry about changing clothes for movement, as there will not be time to do so. We do not care how you are dressed for the vocal audition!

CALLBACKS: Specific cuts from show will be assigned for callbacks.

YOU MUST RESERVE AN AUDITION SLOT. Auditionees will be seen in groups of 25 during the above times. Choose your preferred date and call or use the sign up button on our website. First come, first scheduled!
