LA CLEMENZA DI TITO - Lyric Opera of Chicago

Lyric Opera of Chicago to hold non-singing auditions for
Mozart’s
La clemenza di Tito

Thursday and Friday, November 7 and 8, 2013, at the Civic Opera House

Lyric Opera of Chicago will hold auditions November 7- 8 for its upcoming production of the opera
La clemenza di Tito
by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The La clemenza di Tito contract will be offered as a “Solo Dancer” contract and requires 8, physically fit men (plus one cover) for non-speaking/non-singing stagework.

The David McVicar production will be re-mounted by Marie Lambert. David Greeves is the choreographer.

Rehearsals begin February 7, 2014, with seven performances March 5 through March 23, 2014.

The choreography for this production will be extremely physically demanding and candidates must have an athletic build as well as being very fit, agile, and flexible. The ability to learn choreographed movement quickly, accurately, and with precision is a must. Men with martial arts experience and/or experience with sword technique are highly encouraged to attend, and acting/stage experience is required. Dance experience is a plus, but not the emphasized skill-set.

Please note that if you have been offered and have accepted a contract for Rusalka, scheduling precludes you from accepting a contract for La clemenza di Tito.

Auditions will be held at the Civic Opera House, 20 N. Wacker Drive, Chicago.
