Carrollwood Players Theatre announces auditions for La Cage Aux Folles

Carrollwood Players Theatre announces open auditions for its upcoming production of the hit musical, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, on Sunday, January 8th at 7 pm and Monday, January 9th at 7 pm, at Carrollwood Players, 4333 Gunn Highway, Tampa, FL, 33618.

Directed by R. James Faurote, with Musical Direction by Rob Nicholson and Choreography by Jarrett W. Koski, the production is the original musical inspiration for the film THE BIRDCAGE.

After twenty years of un-wedded bliss, Georges and Albin, two men partnered for better- or-worse, get a bit of both when Georges' son (fathered during a one-night fling) announces his impending marriage to the daughter of a bigoted, right-wing politician.

Further complicating the situation is the 'family business': Albin and Georges run a drag nightclub in St. Tropez, where Albin is the star performer 'Zaza'. Georges reluctantly agrees to masquerade as normal when he meets the family of the bride-to-be. But Albin has other plans, with hilarious results.

Performance dates for the production are March 17th through April 8th.

“I am looking for men and women who want to have a lot of fun singing and dancing their hearts out, in heels!” says Faurote.
