SYNOPSIS

This beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940’s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve. A sound foley artist will add to the fun of recreating a behind the scenes view of an art form from days gone by.

The setting is radio studio A at WBFR in Manhattan, New York, Christmas Eve, 1946.

AUDITION REQUIREMENT

Foley Artist: Prepare an entertaining piece in which you create a variety of real-life sound effects with whatever materials you have available to you.

Headshot and Resume: Please upload these to the Audition Form at the bottom of this announcement.

CASTING

Foley Artist (Any gender identity): No lines, but will create most of the sound effects in the show.

Although the foley artist will not have lines, they will be a key aspect of the play, and will still be playing a character. Great stage presence and energy will add dimension and visual interest to this unique version of a classic story.

COMPENSATION

There is no compensation, as these are volunteer positions. Each actor receives a $100 stipend to help offset costs of participation (gas, snacks, etc.). EDP is not associated with Actor’s Equity Association and does not participate in union contracts.
