Audition Dates: Saturday, January 12, 2012 and Sunday, January 13, 2012; 1:30 – 5:30 p.m.

Place: ShenanArts Ntelos Theatre, Staunton

This beloved Broadway musical centers on Tevye, the father of five daughters, and his attempts to maintain his family and Jewish religious traditions while outside influences encroach upon their lives. He must cope both with the strong-willed actions of his three older daughters – each one’s choice of husband moves further away from the customs of his faith – and with the edict of the Tsar that evicts the Jews from their village. Come enjoy songs such as If I Were a Rich Man; Sunrise, Sunset; Miracle of Miracles; and more!!

We will begin with everyone at 1:30 p.m. Plan on staying for the duration of the auditions, possibly going to 5:30 p.m. each afternoon. Please bring something to occupy your time while not part of the audition process. If callbacks are necessary, that will be Sunday evening, January 13 at 6:30 p.m.

What you need:

• Any song from musical theatre, aside from Fiddler, showing off your vocal range and acting skills, length: 16 bar ballad or 32 bar up tempo from a musical theatre piece. Be familiar with songs from Fiddler as well. Accompaniment will be provided. Readings will be from the script.
• A Headshot and Resume.
• To dress for movement.
• A positive attitude!
