SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre Announces Auditions for Disney’s “Tarzan: The Musical” – first show of 2013 summer season

SCERA announces auditions for its first musical of the 2013 summer season, Disney’s “Tarzan: The Musical,” directed by Shawn M. Mortensen, with choreography by Sunny Watts.

“Tarzan” will play June 7-22 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays @ 8pm at the SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre in Orem.

Auditions for ages 10 and older will be Wednesday, March 20 or Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 7-9pm. All roles are available. Auditions will be held in Room 101 of the SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State, Orem. All auditioners should prepare to sing 16 bars of a Broadway or pop song of their choice. No appointment is necessary. An accompanist, CD player or IPOD playback is available. Dance/movement auditions will be held for those invited to callbacks.

The director is interested in those with percussion, gymnastic or acrobatic skills, and also needs a young boy 10+ to play young Tarzan. Those interested in the role of adult Tarzan should in great physical condition, or be willing and able to get in condition before show opening.
