Light Opera of New Jersey celebrates its 26th Season of operetta, opera and musical theatre with the production of Candide. Based on Voltaire’s 1759 novella of the same name, Candide (music by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Richard Wilbur and Leonard Bernstein, book by Hugh Wheeler), takes the audience on a round-the-world romp of idealistic optimism as it clashes with a series of absurdly unfortunate events.

Auditions are open to PRE-REGISTERED actors only. Registration must be done online, in advance of audition dates. Be prepared to upload a video, your headshot and resume. After reviewing these we will let you know whether we want you to audition in person and, if so, we will also arrange a time with you on one of the two audition days. We will not be holding virtual auditions for these shows. There is an audition fee of $20, payable by cash or check at the time of audition; this fee will be waived for anyone who has previously appeared in a Light Opera of New Jersey production.
