CAN CAN DANCE COMPANY - Can Can Culinary Cabaret

AUDITION NOTICE
CAN CAN CABARET
MARCH 13, 10AM - 2PM

Company: Can Can Culinary Cabaret

What we do: Located in the heart of the Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle, Can Can’s intimate, underground setting is evocative of Paris at the turn of the 20th century. Celebrating over 12 years and nearly 7000 shows the company presents multimedia productions with original music, projections and apparatus that accentuate multiple genres of performance including dance (classic, modern, cabaret, burlesque), acrobatics, singing and comedy. Shows run Wednesday through Sunday (with an average of 10 shows a week for full-time contractors), year round.

What we are looking for:
Can Can, one of the most celebrated cabaret theatres in the US, is doing a national search for dancers and singers (male and female) to join Can Can Production's professional dance theatre company. We offer coveted paid positions with competitive compensation for full-time performers. We are looking for strong technical dancers with a history of classical training. Bonus if you can MC, dance, and sing. Must be willing to relocate/reside in Seattle for the duration of contract. Performance quality is essential. Our performers are extremely diverse, from all backgrounds and dynamic in their own individual ways. We hire people who are willing and able to work hard and perform as contracted, with a no compete clause. The rehearsal schedule is 3 days a week generally beginning 2 months prior to opening of the show. **AUDITION INFO BELOW**

Most roles include burlesque.
Males & females, 18-35, all ethnicities.

FAQS: Female performers must be willing to perform in pasties and dance in heels (3” character shoes will be provided as well as pasties, thongs, fishnets and costumes). Male performers must be willing to perform shirtless and in a thong. Understudies are provided, but we strive to maintain integrity with our small cast and prefer to hire people who can willingly commit to the full contract. (Obviously we understand injury, illness, or pre-planned absences, which we can discuss if the contract is presented). Our venue is super unique, and our team is small and mighty.

Pay:? Dancer contracts begin during the rehearsal process. Rehearsal pay is separate from performance pay. Details of salary can be discussed before signing contract. (Contract begins March 21st ends September 30th, pay is approximately $20,000 with potential for contract extension). Tips not included in salary but average approximately $8,000.
