SANTA PAULA THEATER CENTER HOLDS AUDITIONS FOR
KATE HAWLEY’S “COMPLICATIONS FROM A FALL”
The Santa Paula Theater Center announces auditions for the second play of its Main Stage Season, COMPLICATIONS FROM A FALL by Kate Hawley running from April 12-May 19, 2019. Performances are Friday and Saturday evening at 8 pm and Sunday Matinees at 2:30 pm. Auditions will be held Wednesday, February 6 from 7-9 pm and Saturday, February 9 from 11 am-2 pm. This is a Non-Equity production. There is NO PAY.
This production will be directed by Taylor Kasch. Actors will be asked to perform a monologue from a contemporary play under 2 minutes and there will also be cold readings from the script. No appointments necessary. Questions regarding the play or preparation for auditions may be asked directly to the director, Taylor Kasch, at
flyinghgroup@yahoo.com. No conflicts allowed for performances or for tech week (the week preceding opening). There will be no call backs. All roles open.
When Helen goes to an academic conference, she reluctantly calls on her absent younger brother Teddy for help with their elderly mother. Over the weekend Teddy truly sees his mother, perhaps for the first time, and learns secrets from the past in this heartwarming drama/comedy about the memories we cherish, and those we try to forget.
Roles available include: Elizabeth-65-80 Helen and Teddy's mother. Lead role; Teddy-35-45 years old, a musician, HELEN’s brother ELIZABETH's son. Lead role; Helen-40-50 years old, a professor and Ibsen scholar. TEDDY's sister Elizabeth's daughter. Supporting role; Lucy-30-40 years old, former care giver to ELIZABETH. Supporting role.
