Blackboard Plays is partnering with Ghostlight Productions and Parent Artist Advocacy League (PAAL) to promote a platform for black theatre artists and creatives. Two playwrighting festivals (Black Motherhood & Parenting New Play Festival and the Obsidian Theatre Festival) are in the process of accepting playwright submissions. Play finalists will be selected and Blackboard will be producing 12 of the semi-finalists (6 from each festival) for their 2022 reading season. We are seeking performers for this upcoming season.
As the plays are confirmed we will be casting from this call’s submissions. We are looking for actors to be cast in either one or more readings.

Location:
Rehearsal and the live Reading will be digital, via Zoom.
Rehearsal/Performance:
There will be one rehearsal prior to the live Zoom reading. This rehearsal will take place the day prior or the day of the reading. The rehearsal will be four hours max.
The live readings will take place on a Friday or Monday evening, April-October 2022.
