The Rose To Host Auditions On July 10th
For Its 2013 Production, “Big Nate: The Musical”
The Rose Theater will host an audition for adult roles in its 2013 production, “Big Nate: The
Musical,” at 6 pm on Wednesday, July 10th. Adult actors of all types are welcome to audition
and must come to The Rose Theater, 2001 Farnam Street.
Please come prepared to perform at least eight bars of a song. Cold readings from the script will also be used.
Actors must be available for weekday rehearsals October 14 through November 8, 2013 and
weekday/weekend performances November 8 through November 24, 2013. This is a paid
position for adult actors. Minority actors are highly encouraged to audition.

About “Big Nate: The Musical”
Director Justin Perez from Dance Cartel in NYC comes to Omaha to direct the hilarious stage
adaptation of Lincoln Pierce’s popular comic books. Could the kid with the highest detention
record at P.S. 38 be “Destined to be Great?” Nate Wright insists he’s just unlucky and still has
a shot at redemption. Will his band “Enter the Mollusk” triumph in the upcoming Battle of the
Bands? Will he win the girl of his dreams? Big Nate aims to find out.

Casting for the following roles:
• NATE WRIGHT - a detention-riddled sixth grader with a talent for drawing and
playing rock music
• TEDDY ORTIZ- Nate’s best friend and an expert jokester
• FRANCIS BUTTHURST- Nate’s other best friend and a genius
• ARTUR PASHKOV- Nate’s romantic competition for Jenny and an exchange student
from Belarus. A chess master.
• GINA HEMPHILL- Nate’s rival. An over-achiever with an amazing work ethic.
• JENNY JENKINS- Nate’s crush. She finds Nate slightly annoying.
• MRS. GODFREY- Nate’s social studies teacher. Strict and uncompromising about
the rules.
