ANNIE - The School of Performing Arts

The School of Performing Arts will hold auditions for its fall mainstage production of Annie, Friday, Sep. 8, and Saturday, Sep. 9, at its Naperville studios, 1112 S. Washington. Auditions for the beloved musical, which will be staged Thanksgiving weekend at North Central College’s Pfeiffer Hall in downtown Naperville, are open to young performers, grades 3 through 12.

The perfect start to the 2017 holiday season, Annie tells the story of little orphan Annie and her adventures through the wondrous world of NYC, on a mission to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the orphanage, Annie foils Miss Hannigan and escapes to the city. Finding a new home and family in billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy, and even befriending President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York.

Auditions for performers in grades 8 through 12 will be held on Friday, Sep. 8, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Saturday, Sep. 9, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.; auditions for students in grades 3 through 7 will take place on Saturday, Sep. 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. For additional information or to register for an audition slot, visit schoolofperformingarts.com. Auditionees should come prepared with 32 to 48 bars of a Broadway song, accompanying sheet music, a headshot and a completed audition form, downloaded from the website.
