UPCOMING AUDITIONS: A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING

Cotuit Center for the Arts is holding auditions for A Grand Night for Singing, a musical revue featuring the songs of Rodgers & Hammerstein. This stunning revue features the most striking and alluring arrangements heard for these songs in many a year and includes songs from classic Rodgers and Hammerstein shows, such as OKLAHOMA!, SOUTH PACIFIC, SOUND OF MUSIC, THE KING & I, CAROUSEL and many others!

Directed by Melinda Gallant, with Music Direction by Henry Buck & Choreography by Melissa Morin.

Auditions will be held at
6 Joy Street in South Cape Village, Mashpee (in the center of the Roche Bros./Marshall's plaza on 28 just beyond the Commons):

Saturday, Dec 8 at 11:00 a.m.

Monday, Dec 10, 6:00 p.m.

Callbacks if necessary, TBA.

Actors: please prepare a Rodgers and Hammerstein tune to sing and be dressed to move. You will be asked to improv a scene.

Performance dates:

February 14-March 3, 2013

Thurs, Fri, Sat at 8:00p.m., Sun at 2:00p.m

AUDITIONS:

Dec. 17 & 18, 7-9 pm

for two one-act plays by Don Nigro in March in the Black Box theater at Cotuit Center for the Arts, directed by Robert Bock, Carpe Scaenam Productions.

The Great Gromboolian Plain: 2F; 1M

Dinah: 20's; younger sister currently a patient in a private mental hospital. Sharp and intelligent; uses sarcasm and wit as defense mechanisms; withholding important family document; believes she can travel through time.

April: Late 20's early 30's; fashion model older sister who is responsible for placing Dinah in the hospital; wants the document.

Magellan: Mid-late 30's; also a patient at the hospital.

Note: 1) Although the role of April is critical to the plot, the majority of the lines belong to Dinah and Magellan.

2) The 2 actors in Specter will be used in non-speaking roles.

Specter: 1M; 1F

Norris: 30's; college professor; just experienced the shock of his life.

Marla: 20-30's; delivered the shock and is enjoying it.

Setting: Front seat of a car.

Performances will be held March 8-24 in the Black Box Theater.
