A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER **Revised Date** - Possum Point Players

Possum Point Players set auditions for ‘A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder’

Due to the recent surge in Covid Omicron cases, Possum Point Players have decided to delay auditions as well as performances of ‘A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder. Auditions are now set for Sunday, February 6 and Monday, February 7. Both nights are at 7PM in the Green Room at Possum Hall, 441 Old Laurel Highway in Georgetown.

All who audition must be vaccinated against Covid 19.

The show is scheduled for April 1, 2, 3, 8, 9 and 10. There are five main characters and an ensemble (number to be determined); there are eight total ensemble numbers and five smaller group numbers. This will result in a busy schedule for members of the ensemble.

Those auditioning must prepare a vocal selection with either sheet music for the accompanist or pre-recorded accompaniment without vocals. Auditions will also include readings from the script and some basic dance movement. Anyone who cannot make the audition dates or who would like to work in an off-stage position, should email Jim Hartzell at
jlhart8@mchsi.com. All who volunteer to work crews must be fully vaccinated as well.

The show has been reviewed as a knock-'em-dead, uproarious hit and was the most-nominated show of the 2014 award season. With ten Tony nominations and four wins, including Best Musical, Book, Direction and Costumes, it also earned seven Drama Desk Awards, including Best Musical, four Outer Critics Circle Awards, including Best Musical, and one Drama League Award, again, Best Musical.

“A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder” is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.
