Based on the Victor Hugo novel and songs from the Disney animated feature, this daring production by The Pennington Players sets the classic tale of love, vengeance, and compassion to one of the most sweeping scores ever written for the stage. It’s the only stage collaboration between two masters of American musical theatre: Alan Menken (Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast) and Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin). Get swept away in this rather grown-up tale of Quasimodo and the beautiful gypsy, Esmerelda. Rated PG13 The Pennington Players has assembled a beautiful production of the classic Victor Hugo novel with a star studded cast. Leading the company is CJ Carter as Quasimodo, Gregory Newton as Dom Claude Frollo, Alicia Rose Dishon as Esmeralda, Scott Johnson as Captain Phoebus de Martin, and Andrew Timmes as Clopin Trouillefou. Performances begin October 20th, beginning a two weekend run that will conclude on October 29th. Friday and Saturday performances start at 8pm and Sunday performances begin at 2pm. The Kelsey Theatre is conveniently located on the Mercer County College Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road, West Windsor, NJ, 08550. All tickets are $20 and can be purchased in person at The Kelsey Theatre box office, online by visiting The Kelsey Theatre website, or by calling The Kelsey Theatre box office at 609-597-3333. The Pennington Players have been entertaining local audiences since 1951. Over the years The Pennington Players have performed and worked in numerous venues, including the old Players Barn (an old school house in Hopewell Township); various churches; the Open Air Theatre at Washington Crossing State Park, and our current home, The Kelsey Theatre, located on the campus of Mercer County Community College. No matter where performances were held, the Pennington Players have always strived to produce high quality productions. The Pennington Players are also committed to various genres having produced musical, dramas, comedies and children's theater. Over the years, we have also produced several New Jersey premieres.
