Directed and choreographed by original Broadway cast member Luis Salgado, IN THE HEIGHTS at APAC will run March 11th to the 26 at the The Axelrod Performing Arts Center.
APAC will be the first theater on the Jersey Shore to produce IN THE HEIGHTS and by securing director-choreographer Luis Salgado, the company believes it is can capture the true spirit of the work. "Mr. Salgado brings not only his boundless talent and his Broadway experience to this production, but also a unique passion and vision to bring integrity to this beautiful Latino American story. We are confident that our audiences will be swept away by Luis Salgado's stunning production featuring a gifted, high-energy multi-ethnic cast," says APAC Artistic Director Andrew DePrisco.
The cast includes: Jonathan Mousset (Usnavi), Elizabeth Ritacco (Nina), Maite Uzal (Abuela), Laura Lebron (Vanessa), Jordan J. Adams (Benny), Matthew Oster (Sonny), Shadia Fairuz (Camila), Jose Fernando (Kevin), Tanya De León (Daniela), Danelle Rivera (Carla), Joomin Hwang (Graffiti Pete) and Roberto Araujo (Piragua Guy) with ensemble members include Joelle Anderson, Adam Bourque,Aaron Cobos, Miguel Flores, Myriam Gadri, Andre Malcolm, Marcel March, Bryan Ernesto Menjivar, Amaya Perea, Jenna Perez, Nathalia Raigosa and Susan Ramirez.
The creative team includes associate choreographer John Alix, associate director Valeria Cossu and musical director Walter "Bobby" McCoy with David Maglione as associate musical director.
In The Heights is produced by Andrew DePrisco and Jess Levy and production consultant, Heather Hogan. The desing team includes scenic designer Andrew D'Agostino, lighting designer Robert Rutt, sound designer Gerry Gironda, costume designers Fred Mayo and Debra Thime and properties manager Susan Bloir.
Tickets for IN THE HEIGHTS at APAC are currently on sale. The show opens on Saturday, March 11 and runs weekends through March 26.The theater is located at 100 Grant Avenue, Deal Park. Prices range from $25 for students to $38 (premium adult). For online purchases, visit www.axelrodartscenter.com. The Axelrod Performing Arts Center reunites with Luis Salgado and the team from Salgado Productions for their third collaboration, "Elton John and Tim Rice's AIDA," opening May 31, 2019. Previously for the theater, Salgado directed and choreographed "In the Heights" in 2017 and "Ragtime The Musical" in 2018, both of which received nominations for best regional production of a musical.
