MGM twice used the same source material, the Hungarian play Parfumerie by Miklos Laszlo, to make classic movies: The Shop Around the Corner starring James Stewart and In the Good Old Summertime starring Judy Garland. But it took Harold Prince and the writers of Fiddler on the Roof and Cabaret to bring She Loves Me to Broadway.The musicals various Broadway productions have garnered 13 Tony Nominations and 3 Tony Awards, as well as the Olivier, Drama Desk and Critics Circle Awards for Best Revival of a Musical. If those well-known lyrics strike up a tune in your head, then you're no doubt familiar with She Loves Me, this season's big, Broadway-style musical on stage at the Peterborough Players from July 31st- August 11th.

The Peterborough Players produces 7 Main Stage shows each season that run late June through September, and two Second Company children's shows that run July and August. The Peterborough Players was founded in 1933 by Edith Bond Stearns -- EBS as she was known to friends -- a woman of imagination and vision with a love for the arts. To quote from Our Playhouse (available through Peterborough Players): “At the time EBS decided to purchase the Hadley Farm, it was abandoned and had no electricity or running water.”
